Heres the first of what I'm sure will be many snippets of the short story I'm working on at the moment. Enjoy!
For a reason she just couldn’t place, Kim couldn’t stop staring at the puddle. Stared into the mirrored grayscale version of the street around her. The shadowed street reminded her of one of the old black and white movies her father used to make her watch. Kim shivered a little as a cold wind brushed past her and listened as it rustled the trees around her. She watched as the grey leaf in the puddle drifted up towards the puddle. Out of the corner of her eye, Kim saw a red leaf fall as well, mirroring its colourless counterpart until finally, the two leaves touched, sending a slight ripple that shook the greyed out world. As the water settled and the earth stopped shaking, she leaned forward a tad and saw herself. Her grayed out twin stared with a familiar face of curiosity as a strand of curly hair fell over her dark eyes.
This is nice and descriptive, Elijah. I look forward to seeing more.
